- Total thickness 3.6 cm
- Protects the soil from trampling
- Lets rainwater and air through
Marcelo horizontal tree grille 120 x 120 cm is a grating laid flat around the base of the trunk. It has a central opening of 48 cm in diameter for the trunk. The material is 0.6 cm thick, and the grille has an overall thickness of 3.6 cm.
Whereas a vertical guard protects the bark, this grille protects the soil and roots around the trunk. Pedestrians do not compact the soil, while rainwater and air still reach the roots. The grille is particularly useful for trees surrounded by concrete or block paving.
The grille is best fitted shortly after the tree is planted. Check periodically that it does not restrict the growth of the trunk and, if necessary, replace it with a larger one.
