Outdoor gym

An outdoor gym, usually installed right next to a playground, is a set of open-air exercise equipment for users of all ages. Cross trainers, pull-down stations, leg presses and other training stations get whole families moving.

A robust, certified and weather-resistant construction allows the equipment to be used all year round.

We select outdoor gym stations for a wide range of users, from teenagers to older people, taking into account different resistance levels and ranges of movement, so that a single installation meets the needs of the whole local community.

Outdoor gym stations vary in difficulty and in the muscle groups they work. Cross trainers and exercise bikes are well suited to endurance training with low joint impact, while lat pull-downs and leg presses allow more targeted strength work, similar to exercises done on traditional machines in indoor gyms.

Adjustable resistance based on the user's body weight is used in most modern outdoor equipment. It removes the need for weights or additional adjustment parts and automatically matches the difficulty of each exercise to the individual ability of every user, from teenagers to older people.

Placing an outdoor gym right next to a playground encourages whole families to come along together. Parents can exercise while keeping their children in direct view, which makes this layout particularly practical for residential recreation areas visited after work or at weekends.

The surfacing under outdoor gym equipment does not always need as deep an impact-absorbing layer as under slides or swings, but it should provide a stable, slip-resistant base that reduces the risk of slipping during dynamic exercise, especially on wet days.

Periodic technical inspections of training stations should include checks of the resistance mechanisms, bearings and foundation fixings. Regular maintenance keeps the equipment moving smoothly and reduces the risk of breakdowns under intensive, year-round use by the local community.

Clear signage on each station, showing how to perform the exercise correctly and which muscle group it works, makes the equipment genuinely safer for people who have never trained under a coach's supervision. Pictograms work better here than text alone, because they can be understood regardless of the user's age or language skills.

The spacing of the individual training stations should allow for the full range of movement of each piece of equipment and leave comfortable space for anyone waiting their turn. This matters especially in the afternoon, when a larger group of residents use the outdoor gym at the same time.
