Bin bags

Bin bags are an essential part of every bin and container. We offer bags in a range of capacities and thicknesses, matched to the type of waste collected and how intensively the container is used.

They are ordered regularly by property managers and cleaning companies for day-to-day maintenance.

The colour and thickness of the bag should be matched not only to the capacity of the bin but also to the type of waste collected. Thinner bags are sufficient for dry fractions such as paper, while bags with greater puncture resistance are better suited to mixed or wet waste.

The thickness of the film used for the bags is usually given in micrometres. Thinner bags, of around a dozen or so microns, are suitable for light, dry waste such as paper or cardboard, whereas bags several dozen microns thick are recommended for mixed, damp or sharp-edged waste, as they resist punctures and tearing when carried.

As with bins, bag colours make it easier to introduce a segregation system. Yellow, blue, green and black bags correspond to the fraction markings most commonly used in Poland, allowing staff and residents to sort waste correctly without additional instructions at each bin.

Bags made from recycled film or in a biodegradable version are becoming increasingly popular, especially for collecting bio-waste. They decompose together with their contents under industrial composting conditions, so there is no need to remove the bag before the waste is passed on for further processing.

The way the bag is fitted in the bin affects ease of daily use. Drawstring bags make it quick to close and remove a full bag, while bags for frames with a folded-over rim work well in bins without their own lid, preventing the film from slipping inside as the bin fills.

In construction and renovation work, reinforced bags with greater resistance to punctures from sharp rubble or building waste are used. A standard municipal waste bag will not cope in such conditions and may tear the first time it is carried.

Ordering bags in larger bulk packs, on rolls with perforations for easy tearing off of individual bags, is a practical solution for property managers and cleaning companies, reducing how often orders need to be placed and optimising delivery costs.
