Other stickers (no smoking, caution glass, etc.)

Other stickers (no smoking, caution glass and similar) complete the information signage of public and shared spaces: clear rules signs that make it easier to follow the regulations that apply on a given site.

This item belongs to the accessories group and complements recycling stickers and other signage.

A practical addition to the fittings of public buildings and residential estates.

The content and scope of the signage should be matched to the specific site, as an office building needs different messages from a residential estate or a car park. A durable material that resists abrasion and UV radiation keeps the sticker legible for many months of outdoor use.

The range of available messages goes beyond the classic no-smoking sign and glass warning. It also includes signs for CCTV surveillance, no vehicle entry, private property and slippery surface warnings. The choice of messages should be based on the actual needs of the site rather than on a universal ready-made set, which rarely suits a particular location perfectly.

The size of the sticker and the format of the message depend on the distance from which the information needs to be legible. One size suits entrance doors, where it is read close up, and another suits the entrance to a property, where a driver has to recognise the message while still moving, from a greater distance.

Pictograms that follow widely recognised international symbols, such as a crossed-out cigarette or a camera symbol, make the message understandable to people who do not speak Polish. This matters at sites visited by tourists or foreign visitors, for example in city centres or at transport hubs.

Well-chosen rules signage also has a formal role. It informs users of the space about the rules in a clear and visible way, which can be important when enforcing the regulations of a given area, such as a car park, a gated estate or a workplace.

The type of surface the sticker will be applied to (smooth glass, painted metal or untreated fence timber) affects the choice of adhesive and how the surface is prepared before application. Manufacturers offer versions suited to more demanding surfaces, such as slightly rough surfaces or those often exposed to water, where a standard sticker could peel off sooner than its expected service life.

At multilingual sites, such as railway stations or tourist information centres, it is often a good idea to add an English version or a universal pictogram to the Polish text. This keeps the message legible for people who do not speak Polish without the need to design separate multilingual information boards.
