Concrete Tables

Concrete tables are exceptionally durable, vandal-resistant furnishings for seating areas in public spaces — their massive, solid construction makes them ideal for high-footfall locations where the priority is long service life without the need for frequent maintenance or repairs.

They are very often combined with concrete benches to form a coherent, complete set of street furniture in a uniform style. Permanent anchoring to the ground virtually eliminates the risk of accidental displacement or tipping over, which is appreciated by managers of intensively used spaces and areas regularly cleaned with mechanical equipment. As with benches and litter bins, concrete also performs well in tables — a full overview of types can be found in the urban and park tables category.

The architectural concrete used to manufacture urban tables is available in several surface finishes — from smooth, through exposed aggregate, to through-coloured in a chosen shade — making it possible to match the furniture to its surroundings rather than being limited to a single grey variant.

The weight of a single concrete table, often reaching several hundred kilograms, in itself provides protection against theft and accidental displacement — in many projects additional ground anchoring is treated as a supplementary safeguard rather than an absolute necessity, although it is strongly recommended in areas with heavy pedestrian traffic.

Combining a concrete table with concrete benches from the same product line ensures visual consistency across the entire seating area — manufacturers design such sets for installation together, ensuring that the proportions and heights of the individual elements match one another.

Spread over many years, the operating cost of a concrete table can be lower than that of a timber equivalent, despite the higher purchase price — no need for regular preservative treatment and resistance to vandalism genuinely reduce maintenance expenditure in subsequent seasons of use.

Concrete tables also perform well in coastal and riverside locations, where humid air accelerates the corrosion of metal components — concrete, properly impregnated during production, withstands such conditions far better than steel structures without additional corrosion protection.

Concrete tables are increasingly designed for integration with additional cover — a pergola or shelter — allowing the seating area to be used regardless of the weather, without losing the durability characteristic of concrete.
