Waste containers 1100l

Waste containers with a capacity of 1100 litres are the standard solution for large multi-occupancy housing estates, industrial plants and collection points. A single container can serve as many as several dozen households. As part of our wider range of waste containers, the 1100 l model completes the available capacities with a version designed for the most intensive use. They are most often chosen by housing cooperatives and managers of large properties, who value the castors that make them easier to move when emptied by specialist vehicles, as well as the wide choice of colours matching the 5-fraction sorting system.

When planning the number of 1100-litre containers, take the collection schedule into account. Collections that are too infrequent for a large number of residents lead to overfilling and make it harder to keep the area around the bin shelter tidy.

1100-litre containers are most often made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), a material resistant to UV radiation, low temperatures and most chemicals found in typical municipal waste. Compared with steel containers of similar capacity, plastic versions are much lighter, so cleaning staff can move them easily even without mechanical assistance, and they do not corrode with prolonged exposure to moisture.

Standard equipment includes four castors, two of which have brakes to hold the container in place, and a lid suited to the comb or hook emptying system used by most specialist vehicles serving this capacity segment. When ordering, check that the container's lifting attachment matches the system used by the local waste collection company. A mismatch makes mechanical emptying difficult and lengthens servicing time.

Containers of this size are most often used at household waste recycling centres and collection points serving many households at once, on large multi-occupancy housing estates managed by housing cooperatives and residents' associations, and at manufacturing plants that generate large quantities of packaging waste. With such a large capacity, one container can replace several smaller ones, reducing the number of collection runs required and keeping the area around the bin shelter orderly.

Some models are available with an additional lid lock that prevents unauthorised access. This can be important for containers placed in publicly accessible locations where waste not intended for the container may be deposited. When planning the container location, allow for an access route wide enough for a specialist vehicle and a level surface that makes it easier to manoeuvre a full, heavy container.

It is advisable to plan the number of 1100-litre containers with some reserve over current demand. Seasonal fluctuations in waste volumes, for example in summer when there are more temporary residents, can significantly increase the load on the collection system. A well-chosen container colour, consistent with the national five-fraction sorting system, helps residents use the collection point correctly without the need for additional signage.
