Bag holders

Bag holders are lightweight frames that hold a waste bag in a stable position, making it easier to fill and replace. They are a practical supplementary solution for temporary collection points or locations where waste volumes vary, and they work well at outdoor events and seasonal sites.

Thanks to their low weight and simple design, bag holders are easy to move to a new location. This makes them practical on construction sites and during clean-up works, where the waste collection point moves as the work progresses. Although they supplement conventional bins, they formally belong to the Recycling bins category.

A bag holder is usually built on a folding metal frame with a movable hoop or a system of clips that holds the edge of the waste bag open and ready for filling. This removes the need to hold the bag by hand while waste is put in and stops it from collapsing inwards, which can be a nuisance with a conventional free-standing bag.

The available models differ in hoop size, matched to standard waste bag capacities, and in material: from lightweight aluminium, which makes frequent moving easier, to galvanised steel, which offers greater stability in strong wind and under more intensive use. Some models also come with a lid that protects the bag's contents from rain.

Bag holders are useful not only on construction sites and during clean-up works, but also at fairs, trade shows and outdoor events, where the number of visitors, and therefore the amount of waste generated, is often hard to predict in advance. Being able to quickly add another holder as needed offers a flexibility that fixed bins requiring installation cannot match.

Compared with conventional recycling bins, a bag holder does not replace them at a permanent collection point, but it is an excellent addition to waste infrastructure wherever a temporary, easily dismantled solution is needed. Once an event or a construction phase is over, the holder can be folded and stored until it is next needed, taking up very little storage space.

When organising a larger outdoor event with hundreds or thousands of expected visitors, it is advisable to order a set of a dozen or more holders straight away and place them at several points across the site, rather than relying on one or two units. Spreading out the collection points genuinely shortens the distance visitors have to walk to dispose of their waste, which shows in how clean the whole site is once the event is over.
