360 l waste containers
A 360-litre container is a middle option between the standard 240-litre wheelie bin and larger communal containers. It suits buildings with a few households and small businesses with moderate waste output. Its compact dimensions allow it to fit even in tighter bin shelters, and its sturdy wheels make it easy to move on collection day.
A capacity of 360 litres suits small service businesses, such as hair salons, surgeries or small shops, where a 240-litre bin is too small but a larger container would not be justified. If 360 litres turns out to be too little or too much, all other capacities are available in the Waste containers section.
Small service businesses, such as tailoring workshops, repair workshops or small offices, often face a dilemma. A 240-litre bin fills up too quickly, while a 660-litre container means paying for capacity that will never be used. The 360-litre option fills this gap and matches collection costs to the amount of waste actually produced, without unnecessary expense.
A container of this size usually has two swivel castors with brakes. This makes it easy to move over short distances, from the back of the building to the collection point, while keeping it stable when waste is put in. An empty container rarely weighs more than about fifteen kilograms, so handling it requires no additional transport equipment.
The HDPE used to make these containers stays crack-resistant even at temperatures more than ten degrees below freezing. This matters for collection on frosty days, when the refuse vehicle lifts and empties the container with some force. In such conditions, cheaper, low-quality plastics are more likely to suffer damage to the rim or lid hinges.
In residential blocks with only a few flats, a 360-litre container is sometimes used only for biowaste, while the other fractions go into containers of other capacities. Splitting the fractions this way helps the property manager see which fraction a building produces in the largest quantity.
In multi-occupancy buildings where several households share one container, it is worth considering a model with a lock that prevents people from outside the community from opening the lid. This reduces the risk of neighbours from other buildings dumping their waste and keeps billing fair between residents.
