Slides are among the most popular features of any playground. We offer simple freestanding slides as well as models integrated with tower units, available in various lengths and heights to suit the age group of users.
The smooth, certified sliding surface and safe, profiled edges meet the requirements of PN-EN 1176.
The run-out zone requires impact-absorbing surfacing of adequate depth, and the length and gradient of the slide should take into account the age of the intended users and the space available around the equipment. Slides are a classic, but they are not the only attraction in our Playgrounds section, so we invite you to browse the full range.
The height and length of the slide should be matched to the expected age group. Low, short models are designed for the youngest children just starting out on the playground, while longer structures integrated with towers suit older children looking for more dynamic play.
The sliding surface material directly affects both comfort and safety. Light-coloured plastic heats up less in the sun than dark steel, which matters in summer, when an overheated metal surface can cause discomfort and, in extreme cases, even minor burns to young children.
The gradient of the slide should ensure a smooth but not excessively fast descent. Too steep an angle increases speed to the point where a child may lose control, while too shallow an angle robs the equipment of its appeal and dynamic character, so users quickly lose interest.
Models integrated with tower units combine the slide with climbing elements, bridges or tunnels, creating an extended play structure that keeps children engaged for longer than a single standalone item. Such a combination does, however, require a larger installation area and a correspondingly larger safety zone around the entire structure.
The run-out zone, laid with impact-absorbing surfacing of adequate depth, should be long enough for a child to slow down safely after leaving the slide before reaching other equipment or fencing. This is one of the more common planning mistakes when equipment is laid out without professional input on smaller playgrounds.
Side handrails at the slide entrance help the youngest children sit down safely before descending, reducing the risk of an accidental fall before the slide even begins, which is particularly important on taller, more elaborate tower structures.
