Litter bins 60 l and above

Within our wide range of litter bins, it is this capacity segment that serves the locations with the heaviest footfall.

Litter bins of 60 litres and above are the solution for high-traffic spaces such as staff canteens, production halls, large meeting rooms and areas generating large volumes of waste, where smaller containers would need emptying too often.

Their robust construction ensures stability even when fully loaded.

At this capacity, it is worth considering the availability of suitable bin liners and how a full bin will be transported to the central collection point. In production halls and staff canteens, wheeled models are often a practical solution, making it easier to move the bin without having to carry the weight by hand.

In the 60-litre-and-above segment, two designs predominate: bins with a manually operated hinged lid and pedal models that open the lid without touching the bin by hand. The latter are particularly valued in staff canteens and catering establishments, where hygiene is paramount.

Stainless steel or powder-coated steel construction makes the bins easier to keep clean under intensive daily use and frequent contact with grease or organic residues, typical of commercial kitchens. Plastic remains a cheaper alternative that performs well in production halls and warehouses, where impact resistance takes priority over the look of the finish.

The choice of capacity should be based on the estimated number of people using the space and the planned emptying frequency. In a large conference room or staff canteen, a bin closer to the lower end of this segment may need emptying several times a day, whereas a larger 120-litre model can easily last a whole working shift.

Models with transport wheels make it easier to move a full bin to the central collection point without needing extra people to help carry it. Given the capacity and associated weight at this scale, this genuinely streamlines the work of cleaning staff in production halls and large catering facilities.

In rooms with higher humidity, such as kitchen back-of-house areas, it is worth considering a model with a tighter-closing lid that limits the spread of odours from organic waste throughout the space. Combined with more frequent emptying, this helps maintain hygiene even when large amounts of kitchen waste are produced during the day.
